Share a memorable moment about a patient recovery:

A 45 year-old male who was shoveling snow when he slipped and fell, fracturing his R shoulder. At the time of his injury, he was already suffering from spinal stenosis in his back. The patient was referred to see a pain management specialist to help manage his intense back pain and his fractured shoulder. In addition, he was diagnosed with disc herniation in his upper back. Thus, the patient was referred to PT. I treated the rigidity for his R shoulder and performed pain management exercises to address his spine problems according to the plan of care. We used exercises, manual therapy, stretches and electrical stimulation. Within a few visits, the pain in his upper and lower back had radically improved and he had much less rigidity in his shoulder. Physical therapy helped my patient to avoid back surgery, to gain strength and functional mobility and finally to stop using anti-inflammatory drugs.
