Arrow Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation in Union, Edison, Somerville and Woodbridge, NJ is proud to announce that the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an office of the Department of Defense, recently honored owner Amit Gaglani, PT, OCS with the Patriot Award for our practice’s support of reserves in the U.S. military.

ESGR, as an office of the Department of Defense, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers, and to help with resolving any issues that might come about due to an employee’s military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 4,600 volunteers throughout all 50 states and some U.S. territories, and each member is dedicated to helping serve employers, service members and their families.

To recognize employers who support their Guard and Reserve employees, the ESGR grants a series of Department of Defense awards to worthy parties. The Patriot Award is the first in ESGR’s service of awards, and it reflects the efforts made to support military reserves through a wide range of measures that are intended to make their lives easier. Some of these include having flexible schedules, allowing time off prior to or after employment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence when necessary.

At Arrow, we believe that the patriotic men and women of the Guard and Reserve serve in an honorable and vital profession in the highest American tradition. They train to respond to their community and their country in time of need, and deserve the support of every segment of our society.

With this belief in mind, we’ve been striving to accommodate one of our employees whose husband is an army reservist. This employee’s husband was sent to Afghanistan, and so on top of taking care of her three children at home, she also has an hour-and-a-half commute to our office each way. Understanding the difficult nature of this situation, we have worked with her schedule to make it as easy and flexibly as possible. She also works from home at times, and no matter the setting, she continues to be a productive member of the staff and excellent example to all.

“We are honored to be recognized, and will continue to help in anyway we can,” Amit said.

At Arrow Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation in Union, Edison, Somerville and Woodbridge, NJ, we will remain committed to accommodating anyone affected by military service in the same way we commit to each patient that walks through our doors. If you’ve been experiencing pain of any sort that won’t seem to go away, it may be time to see us to figure out what’s going on. Call us at 908-258-8782 for more information or to schedule an appointment today.
